St. Salvatore Brewery, Dongio
In 1879, a certain Pietro Brunetti built a brewery in Torre, in the future industrial area of Cima-Norma, naming it after the little church above it: 'St. Salvatore'. The brewery remained in operation until 1905, when it was closed due to unsustainable costs.
Following a renewed interest in craft beer, in 2018 Gionata Gianella, Ivan Quadri and Claudio Baumann decided to reopen a brewery in the Blenio Valley, using the historical name 'St. Salvatore Brewery', which had been closed more than 100 years earlier.
From the very beginning, the aim of the new St. Salvatore Brewery was to produce quality beers, investing in modern production facilities and state-of-the-art measuring equipment.
Our commitment paid off in 2024, when our Scüra beer was awarded the Swiss Beer Award, the most important beer competition in Switzerland. Our Scüra beer was thus the first (and for the time being also the only) beer from Ticino to receive an award at the Swiss Beer Award.
However, this recognition is not a point of arrival but rather an incentive to always do better.
For those interested in getting to know the world of craft beer a little better, we offer the possibility of visiting the brewery and tasting our beers.
