The itinerary begins from the Old Railway Station in Acquarossa and, following the designated brown signage, first reaches the present-day Parish Church of S. Ambrogio in Prugiasco. Then, by way of the ancient Via dei Someri that led up to the Nara pass, get to one of the most important points, namely the Church of S. Carlo in Negrentino, once dedicated to S. Ambrogio.

The church is one of the most notable in Ticino, renowned for both its striking architectural layout and its precious Romanesque and late Gothic frescoes.

Having appreciated this little gem, continue across the Negrentino footbridge to reach the picturesque village of Leontica with the patronal Church of S. Giovanni Battista and the meeting point known as ‘Il Larice’.

The route then descends back to its starting point, on secondary roads and pleasant paths that wind through the surrounding woods, passing the Oratory of SS. Vincenzo de' Paoli, Giacomo and Bartolomeo in Comprovasco.

The loop route is 4.5 km long and lasts a total of 1 hour and 55 minutes. To truly appreciate this itinerary, we recommend allowing for a full day.
