Ostello Centro Terapeutico La Fattoria

The hostel is located in the peaceful countryside of Claro and is an excellent starting point for scenic hiking and cycling excursions, as well as other outdoor activities surrounded by nature. The area offers a wealth of cultural, natural and historical attractions. The property enjoys a quiet, somewhat secluded location and can be reached via a short unpaved road.

Open from April to the end of October by reservation only, the hostel is suitable for guests with or without disabilities, families, small groups and visitors taking part in our activities. Upstairs, there are two rooms with private bathrooms, accommodating up to six guests in total. Overnight stays with breakfast prepared by the hosts are available (guest use of the kitchen is not permitted). Lunch and dinner can also be arranged upon request.

Activities: Hippotherapy sessions and horse-related courses can be organised by prior arrangement. Special offers for families and groups are available on request.

Although the hostel is close to the railway line and the town of Bellinzona, the setting is peaceful and relaxing. It is also conveniently served by public transport.

ACTIVITIES WITH HORSES

The main activities offered by ATRE (Associazione Ticinese Rieducazione Equestre - Ticino Association for Equestrian Rehabilitation) are therapeutic, i.e. Equestrian Rehabilitation (pedagogical and psychological treatment using horses) and Hippotherapy K (physiotherapeutic treatment using horses).

Therapeutic interventions are primarily aimed at young people and adults with disabilities, with various forms of handicap; physical, mental and psychophysical as well as users with neurological diseases.

In addition to the activities mentioned above, ATRE offers a range of courses and seminars, scheduled by prior arrangement, and open to anyone interested, for example:

• Courses and seminars on the preparation of the horse to be included in the therapeutic and family context starting from the new studies and concepts of ethological doma.
• Approach courses to horses (individual, for groups or families)
• Courses, lessons, advice on communication and relations with horses according to individual needs
• "Difficult horses, what to do?"
• Chinese massage courses for horses (with a specialist)
• Initiation to circus art (with a specialist in the field)
• Basic hoof care (with a specialist in the field)
• Approach to horses for families
• Seminar "Fear of the horse, let's face it together" (in groups or individually)
• Overnight stay in the hostel at the weekend with horse training, corrections, etc.

We also organise days, weekends, afternoons for individuals, groups, families or companies who want to tackle a horse-related topic together and have a good time in the green countryside of Claro. We are very willing to organise personalised activities with horses, depending on the needs of the applicant. As a rule, we do not carry out rides outside the facility.
