The path is well marked with the white-red-white mountain signage. From most of the locations along the route, it is possible to descend towards the valley on foot or by post bus. The trip begins in Airolo at 1141 m, reaches up to 1419 m at Altanca, and finally arrives at 300 m in Biasca after the descent towards Pollegio, from 950 meters of Conzanengo.

Along the 45 km of this route, you can relive, thanks to the numerous testimonies still present in the territory, a piece of Leventine history marked by the hardships of rural mountain life: there are still many old typical wooden Leventine houses. Small chapels scattered here and there make the landscape particularly pleasant. The villages are full of old houses and the woods, smelling of resin, are unspoiled and accompany us along the terraces of the Middle Leventina, where wooden houses give way to stone ones.

The path then reaches the Lower Leventina via the trail overlooking the Biaschina pass: here vast grassy slopes open with the typical settlements inhabited during the summer season. The descent to the valley floor, through a fragrant chestnut and acacia forest, concludes our unforgettable hike through the Valley, with its different climates and types of vegetation.
