The starting point is the Bellinzona FFS station, and you ascend towards Artore and Pian Laghetto, where a mule track winds in zigzags through a chestnut and birch forest until reaching the Artore mountains. Continuing through a splendid beech forest, the path becomes steeper, leading up to Motto della Croce. From there, it is recommended to return along the same path to the Artore mountains, from which a trail heads towards the Ravecchia mountains.

On the descent, you cross the Ravecchia mountains to reach the ancient village of Prada. Situated halfway up the mountain, the village consisted of over thirty buildings and was part of the Bellinzona district. In 2016, the Prada Foundation was established to safeguard the precious historical and architectural heritage of the village, protecting it from decay and restoring dignity and visibility to a unique settlement in the Ticino pre-Alpine context.

At this point, it is possible to follow the trail to Pian Laghetto and descend to the station along the same path as the ascent. Alternatively, from the ruins of Prada, you can choose to go down to Ravecchia, where a bus will take you back to the station.
