Walking along the trails of the Blenio Valley is the right way to get close to the masterpieces of rural Romanesque. It is a succession of bell towers, churches, oratories, chapels, frescoes, bridges, and palaces, artistic and architectural testimonies of particular importance which, together with the natural heritage, have promoted and increased the tourist appeal of the Blenio Valley.
The Historical Trail number 1 can be defined as a real cultural hike.
The circular route, which winds along the forest trails on the right bank of the lower valley, has a length of 14.5 km and an elevation gain of 500 m, for a total duration of 5 hours.
The main cultural sites visited in order are:
- Start and finish: Vecchia Stazione, Acquarossa
- Parish Church of Saints Nazaro and Celso, Corzoneso
- Rotonda House, Donetta Photographic Archive, Casserio-Corzoneso
- Oratory of Saint Mary Bambina, Navone-Semione
- Parish Church of the Blessed Virgin Assumed, Semione
- Chapel of the Dead, Semione
- Ruins of Serravalle Castle, Semione
- Press Ca' d'Mutall, Ludiano
- Grotti of Ludiano, Ludiano
- Church of Saint Peter, Motto-Blenio
- Oratory of Saint Mary of the Monastery, Corzoneso

The signage is uniform and the color used is brown. In addition to this ground signage, there are orientation and thematic boards.
To best appreciate this route, it is advisable to allow a full day.
