Walking the trails of the Valle di Blenio is the right way to approach the masterpieces of rural Romanesque art. It is a succession of bell towers, churches, oratories, chapels, frescoes, bridges, and palaces, artistic and architectural testimonies of particular importance which, combined with the natural heritage, have enhanced and increased the tourist appeal of the Valle di Blenio.
Historic Trail number 3 (Historic Trail of the lower and middle Valle di Blenio) starts in Acquarossa and reaches Malvaglia, following the left bank of the Valle di Blenio.
Seven kilometers of pleasant downhill, partly on dirt roads – once the route of the historic Biasca / Acquarossa tramline – and partly on secondary roads. The trail can be walked in two hours or also comfortably cycled.
Along the route, the following points of interest are visited:
- Start: Old Station, Acquarossa
- Old Satro road, Acquarossa-Dongio
- Ice house, press and grotti, Dongio
- Church of Saints Luca and Fiorenzo, center of Crespogno-Dongio
- House of the Pagani family, Dongio
- Grotti of Marogno - Cat Houses, Torchio
- Oratory of the Nativity of Mary, Motto
- Center, Malvaglia-Ronge
- House of the Landfogti (Baggio House), Malvaglia-Ronge
- Titta Ratti Atelier - The emigrant villas, Malvaglia
- Bridges over the Orino, Malvaglia
- Finish: Church of St. Martin, Malvaglia
