Parco della Golena

The Golena Park in Bellinzona is a large natural area along the Ticino River, perfect for enjoying relaxing moments outdoors just a short distance from the city centre. This riverside landscape offers many leisure opportunities: walking paths surrounded by greenery for pleasant strolls, a playground for children and picnic areas with barbecue facilities, ideal for spending time with family and friends.

On warm days, visitors can relax in the riverside beach area, sunbathe or simply enjoy the natural surroundings. The park is also crossed by the striking Torretta Bridge, a pedestrian and cycling bridge that connects Bellinzona with the district of Carasso and offers beautiful views of the Ticino River and the surrounding landscape.

The Golena area is part of a broader renaturation project of the Ticino River, aimed at enhancing the river environment and giving more space back to nature. This initiative is part of the Saleggi–Boschetti River Park project, which aims to create a large natural and recreational corridor between Bellinzona and its river.
