A visit to the Hunger Forts, some of which can be seen in Camorino or on the opposite side at Sementina, is an invitation to take an exciting dive into the past to remember a difficult and turbulent period for Ticino.
An educational path lasting about two hours follows a section of the Dufour defense line in the municipality of Camorino. Along the route, it is now possible to admire up close five towers (Ai Scarsitt, Ai Munt, Ala Pélera, Al Sass del Camósc and Al Pian di Bur), some in ruins, others restored. The route, equipped with signposts and explanatory panels, crosses vineyards and woods and offers splendid panoramic views of the Magadino Plain, Pizzo di Claro and the entire Bellinzona area.
Author’s recommendation
