Verena Daldini's "Abstract Universes" exhibition
Observing a Daldini canvas is like witnessing a dialogue the artist engages primarily in with herself, exploring the lights and shadows of her personal journey in order to recognize them, define them, and allow them to emerge to the surface. The effect is explosive: happy and critical experiences find a counterpoint in the pictorial material, transmitting a vibrant energy, an emotional tension that transcends the physical confines of the work, pervading the surrounding space and touching the most intimate chords of the viewer. The artist's intention is that the relationship between the work and the viewer is never predetermined; the narrative unfolds detail by detail, inviting the viewer to linger on each individual detail and then reconstruct their own personal, overall vision. Sometimes the urge to narrate is so strong that the narrative unfolds in diptychs or cycles; In these polymaterial works, ripples of acrylic paint, newspaper clippings, corrugated paper, fabrics and sand reliefs blend into luminous and enigmatic visions, from which emerges a work of construction and, at the same time, of consumption of the pictorial surface.
