The starting point is the village of Biasca, center of the Ambrosian valleys Blenio, Leventina, and Riviera, with its magnificent Romanesque church dedicated to Saints Peter and Paul and the Stations of the Cross that reach the Santa Petronilla waterfall.
You enter the Leventina Valley, following the Ticino river along quiet country roads reaching the picturesque village of Giornico with the modern Leventina Ethnographic Museum or the "Congiunta" museum, as well as beautiful Romanesque churches and bridges. Climbing to the foot of the impressive Biaschina viaduct, the route continues to the village of Anzonico where, built on steep slopes, you can admire typical wooden Leventina houses alongside stone ones. After some hairpin bends, you reach Lavorgo and Nivo and continue towards Faido, a village nestled in a green basin with the spectacular Piumogna waterfalls.
The route passes the Audan di Ambrì ponds, a small paradise for young and old for sport fishing and near the Ritom funicular, one of the steepest in the world, which leads to the beautiful alpine lake region of Val Piora and the Cadagno and Cadlimo huts, from where it is possible to take an MTB path leading to the Blenio Valley. The route proceeds towards the municipality of Airolo from where you can climb the ancient Tremola road to the San Gottardo pass or cross the beautiful Bedretto Valley in a wild nature rich in colors and silence, connecting upper Valais and upper Ticino.
