The high trail starts from Loderio and always proceeds at altitude touching mountains, alpine pastures, and huts, offering the hiker a bird's-eye view of the entire valley.
A trip of vast panoramas, unusual glimpses, and villages seen in their entire and detailed configuration.
The hike, divided into two stages, is consistently interesting throughout its progress among the testimonies of a life that was industrious here and the signs of a nature always ready to amaze with its beauty.
1st stage
The first section that ascends from Loderio is the most challenging hiking part of the entire trip. At Sosto you encounter the trail leading to Pizzo Matro (2,176 m), made unmistakable by its antenna.
The route continues towards Püscett where the mountains give way to the alpine pastures of Garina, Tarch, and Gualdo, while the pine forests alternating with the pastures create suggestive contrasts of light and colors.
From the Gualdo alpine pasture, you cross the trail descending to Cancorì, the starting station of the chairlift to Leontica or Bassa di Nara and a refreshment point at the La Pernice restaurant.
At Bosco Negro you cross the Nara trail which ascending reaches the homonymous Passo and leads to Leventina or, descending, reaches Negrentino, Prugiasco, and Acquarossa.
After Cambra, you continue towards the Alpe di Pian Laghetto to then reach the Piandios hut, the goal of the first stage.
2nd stage
The trail passes by the Gorda hut and its namesake alpine pasture; after the pine forest of Pian Cassinella, the route descends offering a splendid view of the Sosto pyramid. After Rambött, it meets the ancient route that from Ponto Valentino led to the Lukmanier Pass. Continuing on the high trail, you reach Camperio, which holds a precise place in the valley's history thanks to its hospice documented since 1303, then descend to Olivone, the final goal of the hike.
