Explanation
Plenty of close twists and turns, numerous ascents and descents: this varied round trail snakes over snowy, open meadows from the Bedrina Dalpe ski lift towards Boscobello. With you at every turn is a wonderful view of the peaks of the Valle Leventina.
Dalpe is a sunny village in Alta Leventina. It is situated on a high plain at the gates of Val Piumogna. The cross-country ski trail can be accessed directly from the Bedrina Dalpe ski lift car park, where you can also get a bite to eat and use the toilet facilities. The trail is around five kilometres long and stretches between the ski lift area and the Boscobello forest. In the evening, a two-kilometre long section in the Vidresco region is sometimes lit up.
The main trail can be categorised as medium difficulty; despite the various ascents and descents, the differences in altitude are minimal. This sun-drenched circuit is surrounded by nature. It winds in multiple, sometimes tight, corners across open meadows and past small stone houses.
A captivating panoramic view surrounds you as you go: the Valle Leventina Alpine mountain range towers impressively from south to north. The region’s summits include the Campo Tencia, the Pizzo Penca and the pyramid-shaped Pizzo Forno. The latter is known for its crystals, and also the fact that it contributed to the creation of the Forni family name, which then spread throughout the Leventina Valley, from Bedretto to Pollegio as well as in the Locarno District. South of Dalpe, the Piumogna forms an impressive waterfall, visible from the village.
