It was indeed only in 1958 that the artificial Töira tunnel was built to facilitate the hydroelectric works of the Luzzone dam.

For this reason, the route starting from Olivone-Posta and rising up to Campo Blenio is even more charming today, where the wide path, halfway along, the gorge becomes narrower and even more attractive, passing through the hollows dug by the ancestors of the region without the aid of any mechanical/technological means.

After crossing the gorge, you reach the Töira tunnel, where the flat path running alongside the road will take you for a few hundred meters to the old Genziana Inn.

We recommend following the path on the right side of the river, which, through a cool and dense forest, will take you to the villages of Ghirone and Campo Blenio, which in winter turns into an ideal ski resort for families, passing through Pineta Saracino and the Farms (with self-service) of the locality.

You can return to Olivone by the same path or by bus.
