Exhibition "Shooting in Ticino and Leventina"
Starting from the period of heated political struggles in the 19th century, during which the first Ticino shooting clubs were founded, the evolution of this practice will be retraced in its various declinations: political, military, patriotic, until it became a sporting activity rooted in the territory. It will be an opportunity to rediscover the great events of the past organized in Ticino, such as the first cantonal shootings, the splendid Federal Shooting festivals, and of course the Historical Shooting of Giornico. Ample space will also be given to the Leventina context, with insights and curiosities about the various local shooting clubs. The exhibition is completed by a collection of images, objects and other documents, from the ethnographic collections of the Leventina Museum and the Bellinzona Dialectology and Ethnography Centre, from private collections and from the archives of local shooting clubs.
The exhibition will be inaugurated on June 27th at 6:00 pm and will be open until October 26th 2025, from Tuesday to Sunday (2:00 pm-5:00 pm).
