Calonico Mill - Swiss Mill Day

Programme of the day: from 11:30 to 15:30 Leventina folk music with the "Bandella Ritom", barbecue, drinks, cakes, coffee, bread from the wood-fired oven, demonstration of the mill and wood-fired oven, mill for children and fun gathering.

The Calonico mill dating back to 1813 is an important historical witness to the culture and technology in Leventina. The association founded in 1989 pursues the aim of preserving and maintaining the activity and operation of the mill for posterity.

Since 1994 the Calonichese mill has been back in operation and every year it is the centre of the evocative Mill festivals. The association with more than eighty members contributes to enriching the contact between the local population and the holidaymakers from German-speaking Switzerland, whose ties with the place sometimes last for several decades.
