Officials, ensigns, drummers and riflemen in period costumes: the parade which pays homage to the Napoleonic Militia will charm all the members of the family. Are you ready? Head to the Blenio Valley!

In summer, the villages of Aquila, Leontica and Ponto Valentino attract military history enthusiasts from all over Switzerland. Remember to bring your camera! March into the past. You’ll find yourself in 1800, when soldiers from the Blenio Valley left to join Napoleon’s army.

Be prepared to fight yourself though, if you want a space in the front row of the crowds!
