Puncètè archaeological site
After realising several projects, the Curzútt San Barnárd Foundation has been working on the archaeological recovery of the Puncètè settlement which, together with the Curzútt, San Barnárd and Pcian de Rungs "quarters", make up the ancient village of Monte Carasso, which was the permanent residence of our ancestors until the 18th century.
The project is supervised by the Cantonal Office for Cultural Assets and aims, among other things, to restore the ancient grà, which we intend to restore and include in the "chestnut project" aimed in particular at young people and schools.
The archaeological site is only a few minutes (5/10 minutes) from the centre of Curzútt and the route is signposted.
The area also includes a hostel, the Church of St. Barnárd (monument of national importance) and the Carasc Tibetan Bridge, one of the longest suspension bridges in Switzerland.
The hamlet of Curzútt can be reached on foot with a walk of about 45 minutes (about 380 metres difference in altitude) or with the Monte Carasso - Mornera cable car. Don't forget to book your place!
