Manimatte Azienda Agricola

In 2021, an opportunity arose in Bellinzona to manage one hectare of terraced vineyard on a nearby hill. A perfect chance to bring to life an idea that Anna and Luca had nurtured for some time: to create a winemaking project rooted in the land, introducing a new approach to wine in the region, always in harmony with nature.

This is how Manimatte was born, initially with one hectare of vineyard, and in 2024 it expanded to three hectares with the addition of Joel and Claudia to the team. The viticulture and winemaking are now transitioning from conventional agriculture to disease-resistant grape varieties (PIWI), employing sustainable practices such as organic farming, the use of plant extracts and essential oils, soil care, and the promotion of biodiversity. Johanniter, Satin noir, Isabella, Souvignier gris, and many other varieties planted in the spring of 2024 allow for experimentation both in the vineyard and in the cellar.

Each wine is made from grapes grown following this philosophy, with minimal intervention. Fermentation occurs spontaneously, using the indigenous yeasts present on the grapes. The ultimate goal of Manimatte is to create a regenerative agricultural network in Canton Ticino that preserves the landscape heritage, promotes biodiversity, and supports the well-being of people.
