    The route starts from Piera with an initial stretch of asphalt road and then merges onto a wilderness path that is completely surrounded by nature, apart from the small cluster of farmsteads in the Oncedo area and the Piana di Dasunda.

    The landscape opens up for the last part of the trail, giving way to the splendid Dötra Plateau with its high sun-kissed peaks. The Dötra Hut and Grotto both provide an opportunity to savor Ticino cuisine.
