This route runs along one of the most fascinating stretches of the region and follows ancient and narrow mountain paths immersed in a fairytale fir forest, offering an authentic mountain experience, in contact with nature and away from the daily hustle and bustle.

The snowshoe route starts from the small alpine hamlet of Piera, located at 1284 m near the cantonal road leading to the Lukmanier Pass.

It follows the beaten path towards Anvèuda and then enters a very wild trail which, except for the passage through the small group of farmhouses in the Oncedo area, and the Dasunda Plain, is completely immersed in nature.

In the last part of the route, the landscape opens up, giving way to the splendid Dòtra plateau with its tall sun-kissed peaks.
Upon arrival at Dòtra, you will find yourself in a small and characteristic alpine village, known for its rustic huts and stone houses.
The homonymous mountain hut and the grotto invite you to take a break to enjoy excellent Ticino cuisine.

The return can be made along the same route or by descending the municipal road.

Public transport is also active during the winter period up to Campra.
