Sobrio Festival
Sobrio - The Music Village (Leventina Valley)
From the beginning of July to mid-October - in the church of San Lorenzo and in the hall of Casa Mahler - the Sobrio Festival takes place, which presents particularly talented young musicians alongside established artists. During the same period, in Casa Mahler, the Sobrio Festival Academy organises master classes with internationally renowned artists.
The beauty of the location and the uniqueness of the initiative attract an ever-increasing number of visitors and musicians to the Music Village, including members of the Berliner Philharmoniker and the Teatro alla Scala orchestra. All agree that Sobrio is an exclusive cultural hub halfway between Milan and Zurich.
The Sobrio Festival 2024 will take place from 29 June to 13 October in the Church of San Lorenzo and the hall of Casa Mahler. On the opening evening, Saturday 29 June, the Duo Kirsch, who have had great international success, will make their debut in Sobrio. On 6 July, the 'E. Tschaikowsky' Prize will continue, which again this year offers the opportunity to hear young pianists from all over the world. By popular demand, the violinist Simone Bernardini, first violin of the Berliner Philharmoniker, will return on 13 July, while on Saturday 20 July there will be a recital by soprano Francesca Pia Vitale, a rising star on the world opera scene, a true revelation! On 27 July another great event will feature the Trio Chagall, not to be missed! This will be followed by recitals by the winners of the Sobrio International Competition for Young Pianists 2024 and chamber music concerts. On Sunday 13 October, as part of the Carinerie musicali in Casa Mahler, we will host guitarist Davide Dipilato, winner of prestigious international competitions, who will perform pages by Giuliani and Sor.
There will also be a day dedicated to Richard Wagner.
