Il Muro Trasparente
The performance will take place on Thursday 21 March 2024 at 8.45 pm at the Teatro Sociale in Bellinzona.
Max, the protagonist, faces the crisis in his life as he has always done: by playing tennis. A plexiglass wall between the actor and the audience. Tennis is an obvious metaphor for life. For an hour on stage, Max throws himself into a tennis performance that drives him to physical as well as mental exhaustion, raving, he who is married, about his love for a woman he has fallen in love with. The transparent wall separating the player from the outside world becomes a metaphor for an existential condition in which it is easy to recognise the isolation to which we have all been forced by an invisible player whose moves are difficult to predict. In a crescendo of rage and powerful strokes that reverberate through the audience, a final metaphysical coup de théâtre more than ever elevates tennis to a metaphor of life.
Paolo Valerio, a former tennis player of some merit, is the interpreter of a very special show, in which the audience listens to the actor's reflections and words through headphones and at the end of the show on stage can play tennis with him.
